About myself
Hi there, Firstly, let me introduce myself. I'm Ruevyn, well you can aslo call me Vyn. I live in Kuala Lumpur, currently residing in one of the recidental area in Batu Caves. Even though I declare myself a Chinese, in actual fact I am a Straits-born Chinese or a Peranakan Chinese popularly known as the Baba Nyonya. My descendant came all the way from China to Malacca more than 500 years ago, started to embrace the local culture and probably went into the process of intermarriage with the locals in those days and therefore we Peranakans are here to stay to this day. My hometown is of course in Malacca. For your information, I do not speak any Chinese dialect. The language which I am most familiar with is English, Bahasa and Baba Nyonya language. I guess that I do not have the opportunity to learn Chinese as most of my friends are non-Chinese speaking and I'm not Chinese educated.
